"The Love of God"

Have you ever wondered why Jesus loves you? Whether you deserve his love? On some days when you feel like He does, the question of "why?" pops up again. And you may not know the answer at that time; so you believe he does not. Today, let us take a look at what the Bible says about the love of God.

He Loves us so much, unconditionally.
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
His Love is kind and beautiful
17 The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.
3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.
His Love is active, and poured out upon us!
1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.
His Love is reliable
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
His Love is fearless!
18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
He himself is Love, the beginning of it all
19 We love because he first loved us.
We find life in His Love
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
His love is forever and everlasting!
26 Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.
9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.
38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
His love is great!
13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
His Love is caring; He will never leave you
7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.

His Love is strong (unshakeable)
10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
His Love is incomprehensible
19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Now, we know that he truly loves us, what do we have to do? Accept His love. Know first that is it not because we are perfect that He loves us (see Ephesians 2:8-9). He loves us with an everlasting love-- all the time, even if we falter. Whenever we sin, we just have to guide our hearts to the place of Love, where He is, and let his love wash away all our impurities and that we may always remain in him.
Remain in His Love.
9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
5 May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
Beloved, always remember to share His love with others too.
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,
18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ,
19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Now, that we know about His love, let us live in it--actually, bask in it! When we sin, let us run back to him and ask for forgiveness, remembering His love. And when that voice asks you "why?"... you know what to say ;)
